The story of the patent buckle anchor for CRT TV
Safety was always the most important issue for developing our products. For many years all the mounting system manufacturers for CRT TV's struggled to find a solution how to ensure that all their products were safe for the consumers and to ensure that the TV will not turn over and fall from the mount, while inclining it down. The difficulty in preventing the TV from rolling over is because the top of the back of the TV has a big slope and every belt or metal-frame that was tried failed. Expensive Solutions have been developed but because of their high price they have not been implemented in all of the products and are not available to the public at large.
One day, Lior Barkan, the founder of the company, installs a TV on a cart in the playroom of his children. He thought:"How can I prevent the TV from falling over on my infant children while they play?" Lior took some metal office clips and (the clips everybody is familiar with from the icon "add link/attach file"), bent it to teeth-shape and stuck the teeth in the ventilation groove of the TV and to the clips he attached a strong ligature, which he connected to the TV cart . The clips prevented the slipping of the ligature, and the tight ligature prevented the drawing of the clips.
After several days, we noted that the improvised solution worked, we institutionalized it with a strong plastic part which was electrically insulated, that also had special teeth that stick in the ventilation groove of the TV and a groove for threading the belt. After the patent registration, we inserted this solution to all our TV mounts in order to increase the
safety of the users and their surroundings with great success.
