Barkan Mounts launches a new Premium line of mounts for LED and Ultra Slim screens

LED and especially Ultra Slim Televisions are expected to be the next significant trend in home entertainment. This emerging demand in 2010 is expected to rise hundreds of percent in 2011 to become the mainstream purchased TVs. This demand has led Barkan Mounts to develop dedicated models of mounts, for LED and especially Ultra Slim Televisions that will allow very aesthetic integration of the television in every room.

The new premium line includes two families: the first (models 50 and 51) includes adjacent to the wall mounts, low profile to the wall - up to 1.6 cm from the wall, without the possibility of rotation. The second group (models 53 and 54) include exclusively designed mounts, articulation and rotation towards the viewer, in case that the viewer sits off center from the screen. The mounts distance from the wall is about only 4.5 cm - about half the distance of the competitive mounts.

The new models offer maximum flexibility and convenience to achieve the perfect TV viewing experience: Model 53 allows three movements: position away from the wall, turn right - left, tilt up - down. Model 54 allows four movements: position away from the wall, fold in the middle of the arm for corner or niche bypass, turn right - left, tilt up - down. These capabilities allow maximum flexibility, for example: installing the screen in the living room or dining area and positioning it for viewing in a nearby but different area. The mounts include a tilt handle mechanism which prevents pressure on the delicate screen, while tilting.

The new mounts are designed with an innovative and exclusive butterfly design which aesthetically integrates to the rear side of LED, LCD and Plasma TV screens. The mounts also include an innovative solution to manage cables using a special fabric sleeve cable binder using Velcro.

The "Butterfly" design story, patented for mounting system

We looked for additional ways to improve the viewing pleasure of end users with Barkan products. We consulted with numerous designers and all suggested subtle changes without jeopardizing the integrity of the product. We weren't satisfied with the proposals, and continued to search for an original idea. One day, our in-house designer looked at our connecting mechanism and suggested "why not design a mechanism similar to an animal all are familiar with".  We tried a number of animals and came up with a butterfly shape. Animals in the wild, through generations of evolution, have developed a body structure enabling them optimal and flawless movement in the air, sea and land. By using their ffectiveness and ability to work in harmony, we have implemented these various characteristics in the development of mounts and connecting mechanisms to the TV. We have succeeded to harness the most efficient movement of animals, to our new product design, which transformed the viewing possibilty to a more diversed application as compared to what is presently available in the market.
