Management Team

The management team consists of senior workers, with vast knowledge and professional experience.

  President - Lior Barkan

President / Owner, established the company in 1988. Born in 1960, mechanical engineer graduate of Tel-Aviv University. Married, father of 3, resides in Tel-Aviv.
After completing his army duties in a fighting unit, Lior guided a management system within the IDF for about 5 years. Lior was chairman of the DIY division at the Israel Export Institute.
Responsible for leading the strategic planning of the company, and assisting the company to reach its goals. Responsible for the management system and on how the company runs.

  VP operations - Jeremy Engel

VP Operations, Born in 1967, BSc degree industrial engineering and management from Tel-Aviv University. Married, father of 2, residing in Hadar-Am.
Joined Barkan in March 2010, previously was VP Operations and Logistics at Kravitz, previously warked in the field of management consulting as CEO at rasner engineers and as General Manager Supply Chain at Tefen Israel.
Responsible for the logistics & supply chain (production planning, operations purchasing, production team), as well as all company services (purchasing, IT, maintenance).

  VP International Sales - Asaf Shafrir

Born in 1968, BA studies in economics and political science from Tel-Aviv University. Married, father of 2, resides in Rosh Ha'Ayin.
Joined Barkan in December 2003, previously was VP sales at OzVision, and international sales manager for start up company for academic solutions.
Responsible for the sales department handling, Israel, the Americas, Europe and ROW. Development of sales network and strategic partnerships in the territories and monitoring all sales activities.

 VP Research, Development & Engineering - Ran Shaish 

Born in 1962, BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering from Technion University and Electricity Technician, father of 3, residing in Rishon - LeZion.
Joined Barkan in February 2008, with 19 years of experience in engineering, which includes 10 years of heading the lifting department and managing different special task projects, crane and towing/recovery truck design.
Responsible for the Research, Development and Engineering departments - managing the company's development plan from idea to mass production. Also handling prototype design, production tooling and improvements in production line.

  VP Finance - Michael Weinstein 

Born in 1972, Accountant (CPA), BA in accounting and economics from Tel Aviv University, MBA (Specialization funding) Tel Aviv University. Married, father of 2, resides in Herzliya.
Joined the company in January 2007, after working for 4.5 years at IPI.  Prior to this 'worked at CPA office Chaikin, Cohen, Rubin Gilboa.
Responsible for the management of company funds, the establishment of a budget system, construction methods and the development of the finance department.

VP Marketing & Strategic Planning. Born in 1970, Ph.D. in Business Administration from Bar Ilan University. Married, father of 2.
Joined Barkan in 2009, previously was VP Marketing at DHL Israel. Prior to that was Windows Business Group Lead at Microsoft Israel.
Responsible for Strategic Planning, Marketing research, initiation of new products, brand and promotion management and marketing communication.

  Human Resources Manager - Tamar Rozenberg Magen

Born in 1975, BA in social behavior, MA in Social Work Tel-Aviv University. Married, resides in Kefar Sava.
Joined Barkan in October 2007, after working as HR manager at Delta Galil Industries Ltd.
Responsible for recruiting employees, orientation, employees performance evaluation, development and promotion plans, benefits and welfare.

Manager of Barkan Germany and Europe & Asia Sales Division Manager. Born in 1975, LLB degree in Law and B.A. in Accounting from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, married + 1, resides in Ra'anana.
Joined Barkan in 2010,  previously was VP international Business at Kavim Group and Business Development Manager in Ariel Properties Group.
Manager of Barkan's subsidiary in Germany.  Responsible for managing the sales managers team in the European & Asian markets, and for development of sales and marketing strategy in those teritories.

  Manager of North America, International Sales & Barkan USA Company Manager - Chuck Klinger

Born in 1958, BS degree in Physcology and MBA in International Business Affairs, father of 3, resides in Tel Aviv.
Joined Barkan in March 2006, after spending most of his career in the textile industry. Chuck managed both marketing and sales in North & South America.
Responsible for managing activities in North & South America, to develop the sales and marketing channels as well as manage Barkan USA subsidiary company and distribution warehouse.

Born in 1973, MA in economics from TAU, single, resides in Kfar-Yona. Joined Barkan in 2009 after 17 years of service in the IDF. Responsible for managing sales in Israel, and managing the Israel sales managers.

 Research and Development Department Manager - Gali Pahl

Born in 1980, Joined Barkan in June 2008 after 5 years of service in the IDF, rank of Captain, serving in various professional and management positions in the fields of ordnance and Bio Engineering, earlier worked as a development engineer at "SleepUp". responsible for managing the research and development department and all the development projects in Barkan, as well development of all new products from the prototype stage to mass production of the final product.

purchasing and maintance manger, born in 1964, B.sc in industrial and management engineering from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, M.a in business administration from Ben-Gurion University. Married, father of 3, resides in Rishon - Le - Tzion.
Joined Barkan at july 2010. after 26 years service in the IDF - the logistic branch. In lt. col rank. In variety jobs on the purchase discipline, commanding on big logistic base and human resources development, and professional and commanding management.
responsible to purchase and maintenance in the company.In the purchase discipline - raw material, assignment and operating equipment, mechanization, commerce tender and supplier agreements of - metrials and services, operation  in front of  subcontractors and services. in the maintenance section - managerial  and profesional responsibility about the maintenanceof all the company - mechanization maintenance, building maintenance and economy  management.

  Production Supply Chain Manager-  Amir Mehozay

Born in 1970, BSC in industrial engineering and management. Married, father of 2, resides in Tel-Aviv. Joined Barkan in February 2001, after 2 years as production engineer for soft drink manufacturer Coca Cola, and established there revised production system.  Today manages production, operational purchasing, logistics center in Israel and inventory levels both at factory .and at overseas subsidiaries. Responsible for managing the manufacturing supply chain from raw materials till final end product.   Manages inventory at both head factory as well as overseas subsidiaries, such that enough on-hand stock with minimum inventory.

Born in 1966,  BA in Graphic Arts Buenos Aires University. Married, mother of 2, resides in Hod Hasharon. Joined Barkan in December 2007, after 8  years in Tadbik, managing the Digital .Graphic Department. Responsible of  the company graphic design material: catalogues, brochures, packaging, advertising, display boars, and exhibitions stand design.

 Department manager for paint and packaging- Alexey Fainshtein

Born in 1970, MSc in mechanical engineering from Polytechnic University in Chelybinsk, Soviet Union. Married, father of 2, resides in Ariel.
Joined Barkan in February 1993. In 1994 became head of the welding team. In 1996 became vice manager of the metal department. In 1997 was responsible for development and production of assisting tools. In 1998 was named department manager for paint and packaging.Responsible for the planning and production within the department: painting of parts, assembly and packaging lines. Construction methods and the development work of the production department.
