Operators of fast charging stations experience accelerated wear of charging cables due to irresponsible user behavior. Failure to return the charging handle to its holder, forcefully throwing the handle onto the ground, and leaving the cable on the road so that the next vehicle runs over it all lead to the destruction of many cables. The cost of replacing a cable amounts to thousands of dolars and results in labor time and temporary shutdown of the charging station.
